Yoga Therapist

Duties and Responsibilities: A yoga therapist must keep their clients healthy, flexible,and safe.

Salary: $40,970 (annually)

Education: You must have a high school diploma.

Demand: 8% (2014-2024)

Reflection:  I am not interested in becoming a yoga therapist. It doesn’t catch my attention.

Physical Therapist

Duties and Responsibilities: Help injured/ill people improve their movement and manage their pain.

Salary: $85,400 (annually)

Education: 3 year DPT program.

Demand: 34% (2014-2024)

Reflection: I believe it is an important career, but am not interested in it.

Optometry Technician or Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities: Help fit eyeglasses and contact lenses, following prescriptions from ophthalmologists and optometrists.

Salary: $34,840 (annually)

Education: Have a high school diploma or equivalent and receive some form of on-the-job training.

Demand: 24% (much faster than average)

Reflection: I am not interested in becoming an optometry technician, it does not catch my attention.

Optometrist

Duties and Responsibilities: Examine the eye and other parts of the visual system.

Salary: $103,900 (annually)

Education: You must have a O.D degree program and get a license to practice in a particular state.

Demand: 27%

Reflection: I believe it is a really important career, but am not interested in becoming one at the moment.

Optician 

Duties and responsibilities: Help fit eyeglasses and contact lenses, following prescriptions from ophthalmologists and optometrists. 

Salary: $34,840 (annually) 

Education: High School Diploma 

Demand: 2014-2024 (24%) 

 

Reflection: I am not interested in becoming an optician, but I believe it is  an important career because it helps people like me have a clear vision.
