Dental Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities: Dental assistants perform a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duty, and often work-chair side as dentists examine and treat patients.

Salary: $34,500 (annually)

Education: There are no formal education requirements for entering a career in dental assisting.

Demand/need for profession: Dental assistants is projected to grow 18% from 2014 to 2024.

Reflection: I don’t think I would like to become a dental assistant. I think I would like to challenge myself more, since you basically only need a high school diploma. Also, I don’t like the idea of looking inside people’s mouth for a living.
