“Right is right, even if everyone is against it; and wrong is wrong , even if everyone is for it.”
  • William Penn

What the first quote means is that even if people are against the right thing, the right thing to do is what’s right. You don’t have to listen to anyone. Be the person to do what’s right and make a positive impact. For example, school uniforms. Even if the whole school is against it, the right thing to do is bring your uniform like you’re supposed to. The second quote means that even if everyone is for something wrong, it doesn’t change the fact it’s wrong. For example, if you are at a party and everyone is doing bad things. Just because everyone is doing it doesn’t mean it’s right. It means everyone is wrong. You always need to choose what’s right for you. CHOOSE THE RIGHT!

“ Don’t sacrifice what you want most for what you want now. Write down what you want most and see it often.”
-Peter Vidmar
I think what this means is that don’t let a small goal go between you and your biggest goal. For example, if you want to be a good basketball player. Your biggest goal is to practice and do good. What you want now is probably to go home and relax. But you can’t sacrifice what you want most for what you want now like Peter says. You need to be practicing a lot. You also need to put in a lot of effort to reach your goal. It’s like doing homework, but you get a text and get distracted. What you want most is to do your homework. But what you want now is to reply to the text. But, if you don’t sacrifice it, you can finish your homework and continue with the conversation. You need to choose what’s right.

“A good name is better than anything you can achieve in life,”
Coach K.

What this quote means is that what people think of you is more important than anything. It’s people’s impression of you what matters. For example, you would want people saying positive things about you. You wouldn’t want people saying negative things about you. For example, when  you see someone. After you leave, they’ll remember one good thing you did. But if you are a bad person they’ll talk about how much of a bad person you are. In my opinion it doesn’t really matter what people think of me. EVERYONE has done something bad in their life. No one is perfect. Also, just because you have a tattoo on your body doesn’t mean you are automatically a bad person. I think that people who have that type of mentality are rude and disrespectful and shouldn’t judge people just by looking at them.

“Global Opportunities: Careers in Other Countries”

Canada:
The #1 job in Canada is a mining or forest manager. The median salary for that job annually is of $104,000.

Reflection:

I think I would like to work in another country. I think it just depends on the opportunity given for me. For example, if it’s something I can find here in the US, ill just stay, but if it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity then i’ll take the risk to move.

“A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches.”
Proverbs 22:1

This means that money doesn’t matter. What matters most is what people think of you. For example the way you treat people. If you treat them correctly, then they’ll remember you in a good way. Everytime someone mentions your name, they’ll remember what a good person you are. But if you treat them bad, then they won’t even want to remember you.

"If you so-called friends urge you to do anything you know to be wrong, you be the one to make a stand for right, even if you stand alone. Have the moral courage to be a light for others to follow."
-Thomas S. Monson

What this quote means is that you need to always choose what's right. It doesn't matter if you are the only one. You need to stand out. You need to set a good example for others to follow. For example if you are with you friends, and they offer you alcohol. You need to choose the right and deny the drink. It is the right thing to do. You need to distance yourself from people that influence you to do bad. If you decide to take it, then later on there will be consequences. It is better to do what's right than to get in trouble. That is why you need to always Choose The Right 24/7

"Goal setting is goal getting. Set and get"
-Mark Victor Hansen
What this means is that when you set a goal for yourself, you are determined to do it. Like for example what Mr Haymore is making us do. He is making us write about our life goals. The purpose of that is so we can actually achieve them. That's why Mark Victor Hansen says "... Set and get". For example, if you want to do good in school. You can write it down in your goal setting journal and always have that goal in mind. But if you don't have that journal, you'll probably just say your going to do it but probably not get to it. The reason is because you aren't forced to do it like Mr. Haymore is making us do it. So, I think that this journal is a good idea to keep us on track of our life goals and how to achieve them.

"When obedience becomes our goal, it is no longer an irritation; instead of a stumbling block, it becomes a building block"
-James E. Faust

What he is trying to say is that to not have problems, just choose obedience. Since your being obedient, you no longer have to be irritated about facing the consequences. For example, if you aren't obedient, you stress out because you know you did something bad. Also, you hsve fear you might get punished and have to face the consequences. But, if you choose to be obedient, they you won't have to deal with all of this "irritation". Also,he is comparing obedience with blocks. For example, if you choose the right, you make it a building block. But if you choose the wrong, you'll come upon a stumbling block. A stumbling block makes your life harder. A building block helps you build up in a good way. Choose The Right, choose obedience!
