Class Evaluation

I like that i sit next to my friend Emily Perez (aka "HEY ITS EMILY). We help each other whenever we need help on the computer. We became friends because of this class. Also, that we win prices just by having our CTR card. Even if I never win.

I don't like the Student Success Statements, since sometimes I don't agree with them. Or sometimes, I just don't know what to say in those 10 sentences that are required,

Not include SSS in our daily routine.

I think the highlight is the motto CTR (Choose The Right)

I think I do do my best in this class since I am always putting effort into all of the work given by Mr. Haymore.

I actually do. I wasn't really looking forward to it in the beginning, but I find it to be really helpful.

I am being commited, because CRT stands for Choose The Right, and choosing the right is always the right thing to do.

“When you Tell one Lie, it leads to Another.”
-Paul Hatch

What this means is that it’s never okay to lie. When you say one lie, it forces you to say another to cover up the first one. Instead of lying, say the truth. It can help you alot. Also, it wouldn’t stress you out. By that, I mean not worrying if the person you lied to found out you lied to them. It is really hard keeping a secret from someone. Also, you wouldn’t want someone keeping a lie from you. Getting into the habit of lying is bad. Choose the right, and say the truth.

“The Sting of the Scorpion”
-Elder Patrick Kearon
This story is about the time Elder Patrick chose the wrong. Him and his family went camping to the desert. Before this trip, his family had warned him to put shoes on because of the dangers of getting stung by snakes, scorpions, etc. That day he disobeyed his parents. He was going to go on a little walk. Instead of putting on his shoes, he put on sandals thinking nothing was going to happen to him. So he went on his walk and on that walk he got stung by a scorpion. He was rushed to the hospital by his parents. The nearest hospital was 2 hours away, and meanwhile he had an excruciating pain. That day he realized why his parents told him to wear closed shoes and why he should always listen to what they tell him to do. I learned that you should always do what’s good for you. Also, that you should always listen to your parents, because if they tell you to do something, it’s for your own good.

“It’s better to be alone than to be in bad company.”
-UNKNOWN
What this means is that being alone isn’t always bad, and that having company isn’t always good. For example, if you are with a group of bad people. They can get you into a lot of trouble. They can sometimes even cause really serious consequences. Like if they convince you to do drugs or drink alcoholic beverages. That person may be driving, and you can get into a serious car accident, and even die. But, if you are alone, you won’t be at risk of anything dangerous. That’s if you’re not doing anything you’re not supposed to be doing. You can be focusing on school. You can even be doing something as simple as watching TV. You just have to Choose The Right.

Challenges Teens Face Today

What are several of the major challenges teens deal with today?
  • Some teens (specifically dreamers) have the challenge of not being able to apply to college, because they are undocumented. It is a challenge for them, since they want to become someone in life and aren’t able to do it because of one paper. Not all colleges prohibit them from doing it, but states like South Carolina, Alabama, and Georgia. So, the teens living there have that major challenge.
  • Self- Esteem and Body image
  • Stress
  • Bullying
  • Depression
What are one or two major challenges YOU are dealing with today? What are you doing about them?
One major challenge I have been dealing with for a large amount of time is stress, especially with school. Teachers never hesitate in giving us homework, but don’t realize we have other classes and other activities we need to do.
How does being a CTR person help you overcome any challenge you may face?
Like I said before, one challenge I have been dealing with is stress. Being a CTR person can help me because, when I finish my class work early, instead of waiting to do it at home, I can start at school, if I have time.
How can you help other teens to overcome their challenges?
I can help other teens by just asking them what’s wrong and giving them the attention they need.

Reflection: What is the greatest need that teenagers have?
The greatest need teens have is being more social with others. To communicate and meet new friends.

“Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity. Intelligence and skill can only function at the peak of their capacity when the body is healthy and strong.”
-President John F. Kennedy

What this means is that being fit doesn’t only help you have a healthy body. It helps you with your intelligence skills like John F. Kennedy said. For example, if you exercise regularly, it will help you think better. Also, without a headache, you can learn better. It will help you concentrate. Things that can help you are having a healthy diet. Not only that but exercise like jogging or playing a sport. You need to stay out of certain things. For example not doing drugs or drinking alcohol. Choose The Right!
